Website migration to Prismic CMS, Next.js, and Vercel

We migrated Veri's site from a legacy content management tool to a Jamstack-ready tech stack based on Prismic. With the help of Prismic and Vercel, we saw an astonishing increase in Google Lighthouse's performance score.

Orchestrating a migration project on an enterprise scale required careful planning and execution. Here's how we did it: 

  • 1. Model content in Prismic CMS

    The first step in the migration process was to model content in Prismic based on the old website’s structure while introducing improvements where necessary. We did this by going through the pages and different content types on Veri’s old CMS and re-creating them as modular content models in Prismic CMS. 

  • 2. Next.js development

    Now that all data was modeled and migrated from Veri’s CMS to Prismic, we started working on the frontend software code with Next.js. Prismic CMS provides an excellent architecture for creating modular, highly customizable, and efficient page layouts.

  • 3. QA

    The final step involved extensive quality assurance, ensuring all pages contained correct data from SEO tags to H tag ordering. After extensive QA, the site was published on Vercel.

  • 4. Optimizing for Google Core Vitals

    After development and quality assurance regarding the UI and usability, we began the final phase for optimizing the site for Google's core web vitals and Real Experience measured with multiple metrics tools.
